There's that one particular harbor…

Painkiller Recipe

Yes, these are probably a dime a dozen on the internet. However, I got this one by watching the wonderful Monica at Flash of Beauty Beach on Loblolly Bay, Anegada. She was making them one after the other for quite some time and our crew having agreed they were the best Painkillers we had ever had in the islands, I decided to memorize her recipe and try when I got home. I did and so far they’re a big hit. I know there are easier ways to make a painkiller, but this one comes out just right. Like Monica said when asked why hers are so good, “They’re made wid love!”

Edit: Walker over at BVI Pirate Forum argues that this isn’t a Painkiller because it includes the cream liqueurs. Instead he says it’s a cross between a Painkiller and a Bushwacker, so I’ve changed this drink’s name to a Painwacker. Bushkiller just didn’t seem right somehow.

Amaretto
Kahlua
Orange Juice
Pineapple Juice
Cream of Coconut (Coco Lopez)
Fresh Nutmeg

Directions:

1) Pour about 2 fingers of Rum into a tall/highball glass or even a solo cup (about 10 oz)

2) Top rum with ice up to rim of glass

3) Splash Kahlua over the ice

4) Fill about half of remaining space with orange juice

5) Fill other half with pineapple juice, leaving just a little bit of space for…

6) …about a tablespoon of cream of coconut

7) Shake (pour back and forth with another cup or use a shaker)

8) Pour over a fresh glass of ice (without the ice you shook it in – a strainer on a shaker is the easiest way)
